The work I like to do with clients is grounded in cultural compassion and a value-centered approach to better understanding what challenges or imbalances adversely impact their interpersonal and intra-personal relationships. Together, we will explore how and where challenging thoughts and behaviors are born and why they cause imbalance for you. Oftentimes, these imbalances can require subtle shifts in perspective and response, and sometimes, they require a great deal more.

My therapeutic practice emphasizes support for traditionally disenfranchised communities and recognizes the unique challenges experienced by diverse peoples. I believe that one of the foundational components to all human experience is the societal oppression all around us, and as such, I focus on integrating anti-oppression and social justice concepts into my client relationships so that I may understand my clients' unique challenges and experiences.

Everyone has the potential for growth, healing, and self-discovery. Why do we suffer? Because we fear. Rejection, loss, change, failure, humiliation, loneliness, abandonment. No, the world has not invented any new fears. How do we meet fear? We run, fight, hide, blame, whine, push, control, cling, appease, numb ourselves, pity ourselves, play victim, play martyr, hoard security till we suffocate, lock parts of ourselves away and drag ourselves through our precious days for the sake of safety and appearances. No, we can never get enough of what we don’t really want. And the wheel of suffering turns again.
