“a person is a fluid process, not a fixed and static entity; a flowing river of change, not a block of solid material; a continually changing constellation of potentialities, not a fixed quantity of traits.” - Carl R. Rogers
Real interpersonal connection is necessary to get to the root of our distressing thoughts and feelings. I approach therapy by helping to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship in which my clients can feel assured of their emotional and personal safety. I do not believe in the therapist as a prescriptive expert who guides the client through therapy; rather, I believe that the client is the expert in their own experience and emotions and that my role is one of facilitating personal growth and discovery by creating a nonjudgmental environment in which clients are able to delve fully into any issues at hand. The end goal is to help my clients to become more self-aware, self-actualized individuals with the tools to navigate hardships and forge truer stronger connections.
My therapeutic practice emphasizes support for traditionally disenfranchised communities and recognizes the unique challenges experienced by diverse peoples. I believe that one of the foundational components to all human experience is the societal oppression all around us, and as such, I focus on integrating anti-oppression and social justice concepts into my client relationships so that I may understand my clients' unique challenges and experiences. I enjoy interacting with my clients nonjudgmentally and from a place of warmth, kindness, openness, and authenticity. In so doing, I hope to help my clients connect with their own ability to self-actualize as the authors of their own stories.
I specialize in working with individuals working through gender and sexuality issues, those healing from trauma- sexual assault and IPV focus, and females around issues of gender roles, sex, and inhabiting genuine self. I have expertise in and experience with:
Trauma- primarily Sexual Assault/Intimate Partner Violence
Empowerment and anti-oppression
Women’s issues

Healing doesn't happen overnight. My goal is to empower my clients to become more self-aware of their feelings and needs and to better understand and process their unique experiences in a collaborative, self-affirming environment. My hope is that our work together will pave the way for becoming your most genuine self.
